Clubhouse Openings This Week!

Hi Everybody!

I trust your week is going well (don't worry we are half way to the weekend!).  Just a quick email to let you know our opening hours down at the Clubhouse this week.

Tonight - Wednesday 31st July - Hargreaves "Hump" Day. 19:30-23:00

*** SPECIAL GUEST DM ***  We don't know if Gareth made it back from the Beer Festival yet, so tonight Andrea has kindly offered to step in and DM this evening.  Be sure to join her for a mid-week drink.  Why not go training first as our new (well kind of) Head Coach will be putting you through your paces!

Friday 2nd August - The Friday Weekend Warmup - 19:30 -23:00

Open Day, 10th August 2013

Everyone is welcome down to the Club for our Open Day on Saturday 10th August 2013. 

Starting at 12pm there will be a Touch Tournament, BBQ, raffle with some outstanding prizes and Hawaiian Fancy Dress Theme!! Let's hope the weather holds.

The Open Day will also feature some cars from this year's Charity Partner, Mission Motorsport!

Whether you've never thrown a ball before; already play; are looking for a more focused way of getting fit; would like to get involved with helping run the club or would simply enjoy having a few drinks with like-minded people in the clubhouse, it will be a day full of fun with touch rugby sessions starting at 12pm on Millwall Park for youth and adult players. So come down and find out what we are all about.

There will be a BBQ serving lunch and dinner and the clubhouse will be open all day for everyone to get to know each other off the pitch.

Based next to Island Gardens DLR stop on the Isle of Dogs, and being just a 10 minute journey from Canary Wharf, we are very easy to find. We have 3 men's teams, a women's team and a range of youth age groups.

Whatever your interest or experience you'll find a warm and friendly welcome at Millwall Rugby Club.

Video Touch Rugby (Wed)

Video Touch Session - Wednesday July 17th 2013

Tomorrow's games will be videoed and we'll watch them in the clubhouse afterwards. Beer optional...

See how good you are, whether those items we did on Monday are coming through - switch, channels, scoop etc, whether someone really really gets back 5m, whether that ball was grounded and whether that really was a touch and pass!

Timings

• 7.00 pm-7.30 pm - warm up
• 7.30 pm -8.30pm - 2 x games on video
• 9.00 pm - 9.30pm review in the clubhouse

Open day Reminder - August 10th

1. We're having a meeting in the clubhouse this Friday, 19th July at 8pm.

2. Don't forget to sign up for playing and coming to and helping in the Open Day on Saturday August 10th - Touch tournament and BBQ. Everyone will be allocated to a balanced team with different skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Clubhouse Subcommittee Meeting - Wednesday 10th July 2100hrs

MRFC Members!

The next Clubhouse Subcommittee meeting will be held in the Clubhouse after training on Wednesday 10th July.

Day to Day running of the clubhouse is the responsibility of the Clubhouse Officer, however this is by no means a one person task and it takes a huge amount of input and effort from our volunteers to keep everything ticking along.

We are currently on the hunt for more members who can spare one or two Saturdays primarily every 8-9 weeks to be Duty Managers when the CHO is not present.  If you can spare some time please email clubhouse@millwallrugby.com and we will get back to you.

The meeting is open to all members of the club who have an interest in the running of the clubhouse and it gives the Clubhouse team an opportunity to discuss / suggest improvements and / or issues with the CHO.  So if you have any ideas or comments please feel free to pop along.

If you have any specific items to discuss please email them as agenda items to ryan@millwallrugby.com by close of play Monday 8th July.
