Social calendar - Save the dates!
Ladies and gentlemen,
We are half way through the season, and some great sport & social events are coming up at the club so save the dates!
6 Nations
6 Nations kicks off this week on 1st of February, with Wales/Italy to open the tournament at 2.30pm, followed by LE crunch France - England at 5pm.
Clubhouse will be open on every 6N Saturday (apart from the club day out - see below), and maybe some Sundays. Watch out for Clubhouse opening emails update.
Millwall RFC Thirst Thursdays:
Dry January is nearly over, let's celebrate this with a drink!
First 2014 Thirst Thursday at Henry Addington (Canary Wharf) on Thursday 6th of February, and will carry on every first Thursday of each month.
Venues to change every month, check out Facebook events and update emails.
Club away day - Burnham on Crouch - Saturday 8th of February
To return the favour to Burnham, who were such good fun last time they came down to play us, we are organising a trip down there with the first XV playing them that day.
KO being around 2pm, plan is to meet at the clubhouse and leave at 11.30am.
A coach will be hired for that special occasion, fitting about 50 people, so feel free to bring your friend/girlfriend/wife/dog/whoever matters to you!
We are also thinking of having a pub crawl on the way back... And clubhouse will be closed that day... So really no excuse not to come down and support your team!
Pub Quiz - Sunday 16th of February
Come down to the club and enjoy a break in 6 nations with a pub quiz organised at the clubhouse.
Touch rugby is still running from 1pm to 3pm, then clubhouse will be opened and quiz will start from 3.30pm.
No need to sign up in a team, just turn up and challenge your knowledge with quiz master Mr Beech.
St Patrick - Millwall Super Saturday - 6 Nations last round - Saturday 15th of March
Don't miss out THE big afternoon of 15th of March: Millwall is playing at home, it is too close to St Patrick not to celebrate it how it should be, AND it is the last round of 6 Nations tournament... So big atmosphere to be expected at the club!!
Boys VS Girls - Saturday 12th of April
Yes... It is back... The big night you are all waiting for, bigger and better than last year?
Will men be able to show the same flexibility skills and win the competition two years in a row? Or will the girls come up with unbeatable challenges?
Well let's find out!
Check out the Facebook event to come up soon for more details but make sure you book this night in your calendar and proudly represent your gender!
Tour - First bank holiday week end of May
What happens on tour, stays on tour.... Enough said
REST of the WORLD game - Saturday 10th of May
Make sure you have fully recovered from tour because THIS is the game you should not miss.
One of the best Millwall RFC traditions, English VS Rest of the world players playing against each other, to close the season as it should be.
Women game followed by men's one, hopefully the sun will be out as well, a great day of rugby not to be missed!
Last but not least...
END OF SEASON DINNER - Saturday 17th of May
What a busy Month of May we're going to have!
Whatever plans you had in mind for that day, just cancel them: Millwall RFC end of season dinner, which every clubs envy us (yes, every clubs), will be held at the House of Common on Saturday, May 17th.
This may be the last opportunity for us to have it in this wonderful venue so make sure you don't miss it.
I think that's all so far...
Any doubts, questions, please feel free to drop me an email at socialsecretary@millwallrugby.com

As has been mentioned over the previous weeks, we are desperately short of Duty Managers. Therefore we are currently unable to open this Saturday (The opening weekend of the 6 Nations) unless we have duty managers available to cover. I'm sure you will all agree that it would not be good if the rugby club cannot open when a key rugby competition is taking place.
We need to find someone to open to cover a) the home game, b) Wales vs Italy 6n @ 2.30pm & c) France vs England 6n @ 6pm.
Sunday - WE NEED A DM - hoping to be able to open from 2.30PM until 9PM

I am delighted to announce Carrot Cars as a new
sponsor of the club. They are a Canary Wharf based Minicab company founded in
2009. They offer a 24/7 365 days a year, cheap, clean and reliable minicab
service for business and residential customers who value speed and quality.
They are supporting us and so, when you need a cab, please support them. Their
number is 0207 005 0557 and their website www.carrotcars.co.uk
Adam Wiltsher from Carrot Cars will be at the club on
Saturday to watch the 1sts play Thames, and said this about
the sponsorship “We are really happy and very excited to have begun
this relationship with Millwall Rugby Club. It is great to be able to support
such a well-run organisation, that is committed to making a difference in the
community that we are based in. Sports is such a great thing to get involved in
and so it is fantastic that we can help the Rugby Club in their continued
efforts to get people in our area into rugby.”
I'd like to thank Adam and Carrot Cars for their
support, which will make a real difference to the contribution we can make
to sport, fitness and community engagement in the run up to the 2015 Rugby

Calling all Millwall supporters - your club needs you this weekend
This weekend sees the 1st XV travel to local rivals May & Baker for a top of the table clash in Essex 2.
By far this will be the most difficult match the team have faced this season to date. May & Baker are unbeaten since their defeat at Millwall Park in early October and still in the RFU Vase, moreover they haven't conceded a try since they played Millwall.
So, on behalf of the team, we ask everyone connected to Millwall to come and support the guys as they continue their push for promotion. Your support could make the difference.
See you all Saturday
