This is formal notice of the club's Annual General Meeting.
Business will include:

1.    Secretary's Special Report on the reason for holding a separate club and company AGM
2.    Treasurer's Report
3.    Motion to amend the Constitution to facilitate Incorporation
It is proposed that Millwall Rugby Club delete current Clause 12 of the Constitution and substitute therefore with immediate effect as Clause 12, the clause DISTRIBUTION OF ASSETS BY WAY OF RECONSTRUCTION.

It is proposed that the club distributes its assets to Millwall Rugby Football Club Ltd and then dissolves.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the 2014 Annual General Meeting of the Company will be held at Millwall Rugby Club, 75 Manchester Road, London E14 3DN on 31 May 2014 at 1.30pm to consider and, if deemed fit, to approve the following resolutions:

ORDINARY RESOLUTIONS

1.    To receive and adopt the accounts of the Company for the period to 30 April 2014 together with the reports thereon of the directors of the Company.
2.    To accept the resignation of current directors following the process of clause 22 of the articles of association.
3.    To appoint new directors following the Election process outlined in clause 24 of the articles of association.

SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS

       4.    THAT the name of the company be changed to:
            Millwall Rugby Club Ltd

Membership 
You must be a currently paid up member of the Club to vote (for elections or for awards) or to stand for an elected position.  If you're not a member yet, please see our website to pay online in advance of the meeting.

Voting at the meeting
Voting will be carried out by secret ballot (on paper) and voters will be able to choose between each of the candidates plus an option "none of the above/re-open nominations".  Per article 5f of the constitution, where there is only one candidate for a particular position they must gain at least 50% of the votes cast to be elected.
The constitution explains what will happen if any of the elected roles remain unfilled.

Voting in absentia by proxy
·                     Members are not obliged to vote if they do not wish to do so.
·                     If you are not able to attend the AGM in person, you may nominate a proxy to vote on your behalf by giving them and the Secretary notice of this in writing (email preferred) by 1pm on Wednesday 28 May 2014. Where this is not done, the proxy vote will not be accepted.
·                     Your proxy must be a current club member and no club member may carry more than 5 proxy votes. You should instruct your proxy how to vote on your behalf.
·                     If you are unable to find a willing proxy, current club officers will act as proxy for you and will accept written instructions on how to vote on your behalf.
·                     We want members to attend the meeting and take part in the discussions so please do make every effort to attend in person. It's your club and it’s run by the members for the members.

Millwall Summer 7s

Morning All,

A bit of a long one but stick with it!

This summer Millwall is embarking on a sevens trip to a couple of tournaments. These are open to all players and members, registered or not and will be a great opportunity to keep your hand in the old rugby front. See below for details of how to register your interest, places are limited so make sure to let us know at summerrugby@millwallrugby.com before the deadline to be in with a chance of playing:


Brighton 7s: 6th - 8th June
Price: £55 including camping
Travel arrangements: travel not laid on by club but plan is train down with beers on Friday, train back on the 8th
Supporters also welcome at £25 for the weekend.
Deadline for application (both players and supporters) - 19th May 2014 


Find Rugby Now 7s: 26th July in Ilford
Price: £25
Travel arrangements: TBC
Supporters also welcome, tickets available on the gate
Deadline for player applications - 19th May 2014


Note on selection - 

All players must be a fully paid up member of Millwall RFC 

Millwall shirts will be provided as per usual, Millwall shorts and socks are available from the bar - Millwall attire vital!

In the event of oversubscription for players names will be drawn from a hat randomly on 21/5/2014, players will be informed of outcome and will have until 26/5/2014 to pay for their spot before it is offered to a runner up (note supporters have until 28/5/2014 to pay for their ticket for Brighton).

Let us know if you'd like to play/support in one or both tournaments before the deadline and let's have a great summer! (P.S. touch is currently running Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays to keep fit - keep up to date by checking the blog and the facebook pages)

Clubhouse openings and important notices (w/c 12th May)

Club Openings:
Wednesday - Open from 7.30pm 
Gareth will be opening this Wednesday and will be ordering curries for anyone who is interested to be delivered after the training session.

Friday - Open from 7.30pm    
Robin will be opening the clubhouse from 7.30pm this Friday to help you celebrate reaching the end of the week, so come down and keep him company.

Saturday - CLUBHOUSE CLOSED - End of Seson Dinner, Devonport House, Greenwich
Due to us holding the End of Season dinner, the clubhouse will be CLOSED this coming Saturday.
 
Plan for the evening is as follows:
  • Meet in the Gypsy Moth, Greenwich from 5pm (next to Cutty Sark)
  • Go to he Dinner from 7pm, Devonport House, Greenwich
  • After party at Belushis until 2pm
  • After, After party - who knows (although I hear Ryan's house is closest) ;-)
  

Tickets for Dinner - Sales extended to 12noon Friday 16th
We have negotiated with the venue to allow some last minute additions to number as we still have some spaces left. It would be great if you could join us as what promises to be a great event.

We also realise that there has been a lot of events all bunched together what with Tour, Mens SemiFinals, RoW day and End of Season dinner. To this end, if you want to go to the dinner, but would like to arrange a deferred payment plan, then please email Adrienne by clicking on this link before Thursday 15th May to come up with a suitable plan.

We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the End Of Season dinner and celebrate the great achievements over the last season by all teams.

Last two days to buy Annual Dinner Tickets + Awards

Millwall people,

There are only two days left for you to get a ticket to join us for the Annual End of Season Dinner on Saturday May 17th.

The plan for those with tickets, is to meet at the Gypsy Moth in Greenwich for pre drinks around 4.30pm,
then to head over to Devonport House for the dinner, arriving for reception drinks at 7pm and sitting down to eat at 7.30pm.

The dinner includes a three course meal, coffee or tea and half a bottle of wine.

Finally we have free entry and some free beers/bubbly waiting for us at the Belushi's in Greenwich, where we will be heading right after the dinner.

To buy your ticket you can visit www.millwallrugby.com/annualdinner.  For your convenience, we will also have a laptop down at the clubhouse that you can use to buy a ticket on Rest Of The World (ROW) Day, this Saturday May 10th.

Clubhouse opening, games and important notices (w/c 5th May)

Club Games:
We have finally be given confirmation that the Essex Presidents Shield Semi-Final match for the mens First XV will be played this Saturday at Bancroft - 
Bancroft v Millwall.  Essex Presidents Shield semi-final.  KO 15.00 @ IG9 6JD. 
We will also be having 3 games on Millwall park this Saturday for our annual "England v RoW" festival day so make sure you make it down for this great day.

Youth = 11am - 12.30pm
Venus England v Venus RoW (7's) = 1pm - 2pm 
Millwall Mens v Laguaria (Italian Touring side) = 2pm - 4pm

Saturday - Eng v RoW & Eurovision Open from 11am

Come down to the clubhouse to show your support for the Youth, Venus and Mens teams as well as showing the Italian touring side from Laguaria traditional Millwall hospitality.

Ryan and Gareth will be your main duty managers for the day, with maybe a few more thrown in.

There will be a BBQ from 12pm - 5pm (if we have enough volunteers) - all donations of cold sides (potato salad/coleslaw etc) are most welcome.

Then to round the evening off we will also be showing Euro-vision on the TVs to see how everyones European home nation gets on.

Squad info for Essex Presidents Shield Semi Final - 10 May 2014

Guys,

Whilst we do not yet know our opponents for next Saturday, we do know it will be an extremely difficult match away from home.  Our opponents will be either Bancroft or Clacton, either way we will need to be on top form.

Thanks to all the guys who made training last night, however next week we need to step up further and prepare thoroughly.

Therefore there will be training on Monday night at 7pm.  Give it is the Bank Holiday we will start a touch earlier to allow us to have as much time before the light fades.

Please bring all kit required for contact session.

Wednesday night training will focus on team preparation for Saturday.

There will be a text from me later in the week and a selection email going out too.  Please reply to both asap when received.
