AGM Results

Results from the Millwall Rugby Club Ltd Annual General Meeting

We had a great turnout from the membership with 54 voters in total and all positions filled - thanks to everyone who came and to all those who have volunteered their time and expertise for the Club in the coming season.

Please remember we always need help to keep the club running smoothly so even if you haven't taken on a named role you can help on a sub-committee (I hate that word - let's call it task force!).  If there is an area you are particularly interested in, speak to the elected officer and volunteer your help - it will be greatly appreciated.

Handover to the newly elected officers will be completed within the next 6 weeks - the CMC meeting of 14 July will be a joint CMC of the old and new committees.

Club Management Committee (CMC) meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse, all are welcome, if you could please try to email secretary@millwallrugby.com to say if you are coming to a meeting that would be appreciated.
You can propose items for the agenda and/or can be involved in discussions so we get a rounded view from the membership.

Congratulations to the new committee and many thanks to the outgoing committee for your contribution over the past year.

Yes, it's that time of the year again when everyone in Europe (including Israel and Australia this yr) goes mad for cheesy, kitschy pop - pretty much like when Llamas manager Mr Newman puts a playlist on in the minibus.

As well as the usual scorecards, sweepstake and other games - we have a special guest star this year who will be visiting.

So make sure you come down to the club and "make your mind up" who will win and enter the sweepstake to win some "money, money, money".

Dressing up in a European country theme is positively encouraged, as well as bringing examples of food from that country.

Touch Team keeps the success going

Millwall's Touch Team beat 'Tempted to Touch' 40:0 in the South Quays league tonight :))

Your Club Needs YOU!

Just a reminder in regards to the task force meeting which is to take place on Thursday 7th May at 8 30pm in the Clubhouse.

Millwall Rugby club are looking to build momentum following on from our success last season.  As part of this, I would strongly encourage you all to attend this meeting in order to share ideas as to how we can grow and develop the club.  Neil Sweeney, the development officer at the RFU would also be on hand to share ideas based on his experience as well as answer any questions you may have.  The agenda is fairly simple:

What is good about Millwall rugby?
What can we do better?
What do we need to do it?
Formulate a plan….
Off we go!

Please reply to myself at development@millwallrugby.com to confirm your attendance and if you have any initial ideas so that we could get the ball rolling asap...

Hope to see you there

Andy Ly
Development Officer

Thirst Friday the 8th of May

Since O2 Touch rugby has callously stolen our Thursday slot, (and certain members may be in danger of losing their jobs due to sudden Friday illnesses), it has been decreed that Thirst Thursday is now changed to Firsty Friday until this heretical threat has been dealt with once and for all. This tends to happen when the ground becomes regularly soft enough to again fall over without breaking stuff before the start of next season.

Onwards proud rugby players (and social beer monsters)! …Into battle, which will take place upon the hallowed paving slabs of Via (previously Via Fossa) in West India quay:

VIA Canary Wharf
2 The Port East Building
Hertsmere Road
London
E14 4AY

The affray will commence at approximately 17:30hrs or possibly before, (whenever the first person working in the wharf gets sick of work on a Friday).

Once more unto VIA, dear friends, once more! … The game's afoot; Follow your spirit: and upon this charge, Cry — God for Harry, England and Saint George! (or any other names/countries/patron saints applicable to whoever is coming).
